Taylor Unger Announced as winner of Cutting Loose Salon's Mother's Day Make Over Contest
After reviewing many 100 word essays and narrowing those down to several finalists, the judging began.
SARASOTA, FL, June 10, 2010 /Beauty PR News/ -- After reviewing many 100 word essays and narrowing those down to several finalists, the judging began. Essays were read by Manatee County Commissioner and Chair Donna Hayes, Pamela Day of Designing Women Boutique, Sondra Guffey, Editor of Living Out East Magazine and Lynne Koons from Paul Mitchell Products.
"This was one of the most fun community activities that I've been asked to participate in and it was wonderful to be able to be part of something that was for the enjoyment of one of our own local mothers. Thank you to Cutting Loose Hair Salon, the judges and to everyone involved in this promotion," said Manatee County Commissioner and one of the five judges, Donna Hayes.
Ms. Unger was overwhelmed when she received the call from Coral Pleas, owner of Cutting Loose Hair Salon to inform her that she was the lucky winner. Ms. Unger wasted no time in booking as appointment to have master stylist Coral Pleas create her new hair and make up look. The phone did not cool before Ms. Unger called Pamela Day of Designing Women Boutique (DWB) to schedule a fitting and the selection of her new ensemble. Jackie Rogers, fashion stylist and Designing Women Board Member (DWB) made sure that her schedule was flexible and was able to accommodate an appointment for the fitting.
The entries were all so heartwarming that it was really difficult to select a winner and as a solution to the challenge, Cutting Loose decided to give the runners up a new hair cut and style. Those winners were: Devan Merrifield, Brittany Dale, Kelsie Thomas, Monica Kelly and Richard Phillips.
Doris Byal, fourth grade teacher at Gilbert W. McNeal Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch surprised the team by making the contest a School project.
The Cutting Loose team was invited to the school to share the winning information and share the importance of Mother's Day with the students. The contest was created to provide a complete hair style and makeup make over along with a professionally fitted ensemble from Designing Women Boutique. The value of this promotion was: $1000.00.
