Phyllis Benstein, former engineer and beauty consultant, now enjoys a new career in fashion with bag design company Gigi Hill

A former Electrical Engineer and Beauty Consultant/ Director with Mary Kay, Ms. Benstein has parlayed her background and passion for fashion into a fitting new career in fashion. She celebrates her promotion to an independent founding Style Director with Gigi Hill, a home-based direct sales business that deals in women's bags and accessories. Noted for her skills in business development, Ms. Benstein excels at training, leading and motivating sales teams and teaching work-life balance to her stylists. She is proud to be associated with Gigi Hill, a joint venture between self-described "soccer moms" Gabrielle DeSantis-Cummings and Monica Hillman, who wanted to design functional, yet stylish and feminine, bags for everyday life.
Experienced at organizing multi-vendor shopping extravaganzas and girls' nights out, as well as corporate Lunch and Learns on Organizing Your Purse, Organize Your Life, Ms. Benstein enjoys visiting clients at their homes or offices to set up parties and fundraisers that are fun-filled, easy and profitable. She also creates personalized gift sets for both corporate and private occasions. Furthermore, Ms. Benstein relishes having the opportunity to utilize her leadership background to help women wake their sleeping giants, be all they can be and run successful businesses.
Ms. Benstein received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1985 from the University of Dayton. She is a member of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, the Carol Stream Chamber of Commerce and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. She is a 2nd Vice President on the Board of the Palatine Township Sr Center, and is the Girl Scout Coordinator for the Chicago Regional Section of the Society of Women Engineers. In the next few years, she aspires to become one of the founding Style Directors to spread the magic of Gigi Hill and attain the level of Executive Style Director.
The inspiration behind Gigi Hill can be traced to the vision of Gabrielle DeSantis Cummings and Monica Hillman to help women get stylishly organized with a line of products that are both fashionable and functional. Gigi Hill went national in February 2009.
